Policies - Catholic Education Services

Catholic Education Services provides leadership and support to Catholic schools in areas of policy formulation and implementation. Policy in Catholic schools is made in the context of policies and guidelines promulgated by the Education Board of Governance, Diocese of Cairns, the provisions of Canon Law and government legislation relevant to the operation of schools.

Changes to Privacy Act: Changes to our Privacy Policy and Collection Notice

Due to recent changes to Privacy legislation, the Diocesan Board of Governance Education has updated the privacy policy for all schools in the Cairns Diocese. The updated policy provides parents with guidance about the approved collection and use of student information. 

The updated policy with marked changes and the revised Privacy Policy Statement can be found here: www.cns.catholic.edu.au/about/privacy 

The changes take effect from 11 June 2018.

Student Care Insurance

Has your child had an accident or injury at school or in a school related activity such as inter-school sport or a school camp? If the answer is yes you may be entitled to claim for expenses under Catholic Education’s Student Care Insurance. It covers expenses such as medical costs (where the law allows), emergency transport, travel, home tuition and school fee relief.
