Young Ladies of St Andrew's

Founded in 2009 by Jessica Lawson (Class of 2014) and assisted by Mrs Joanne Lawson, the Young Ladies of Saint Andrew’s (YLOSA) is a vibrant community dedicated to empowering and supporting young women on their journey to personal and academic success.

Founded on the principles of sisterhood, studentship, and service, YLOSA provides a nurturing environment where girls can thrive both personally and academically. Whether participating in volunteer projects, organising fundraisers, or networking with students, the members continue to make a positive impact in their communities and beyond.

YLOSA actively supports causes close to their hearts; community groups supporting women such as Ruth’s Women’s Shelter, Cancer Care Centre and Share the Dignity.

Each year YLOSA:

  • Hosts a “Girl’s Night In”
  • Hosts a “Pink Day”
  • Holds Bake Sales
  • Fundraises for “Socktober” and so much more!

They are dedicated young women who are committed to making a difference. Their efforts extend beyond traditional charity work, as they assemble gift packages tailored for both the College community and those in need within the oncology wards at the Cairns Base Hospital and ‘Share the Dignity’ Bags for those woman experiencing homelessness, fleeing domestic violence, or doing it tough.

YLOSA brings female students together from Year 7 to Year 12 building strong bonds while working together and building connections with their community.
