Design & Technology

Design & Technology provides students with complex learning challenges in which they use design thinking and technologies to generate and produce solutions for authentic needs and opportunities.

Students experience and use a range of equipment and resources, exploring options to meet design briefs and create products that satisfy the needs of both the user and the community. Students acquire skills and knowledge which allow them to successfully solve problems related to design and/or production.

At St Andrew's, our goal is to give guidance to students as they develop their interest in INTAD subjects into a desire to pursue it as a future career.

Our rapidly changing world requires students to understand the process of change and to engage positively and creatively with it. The technologies curriculum asks students to consider creating futures that they envisage as desirable and sustainable for themselves and future generations.

Students use design thinking and technologies to generate and produce solutions for Products, Services and Environments, responding to authentic needs and opportunities. They benefit from learning about and working with traditional, contemporary and emerging technologies that shape the world in which we live.
