Congratulations to our QTA Finalists

Over the holidays the FNQ QTA Awards were held in which St Andrew’s were fortunate to have two of the three finalists for the School-Based Trainee / Apprentice of the Year. David Dunworth was nominated for his Traineeship with the Friendly Grocer at Freshwater in Certificate II Retail and Ellie Collins was nominated for her Apprenticeship with Cairns Pullman International for her Certificate III Commercial Cookery. I am proud to announce that Ellie was the successful winner of this award and will now compete for the State QTA Award in September this year with wish her all the best for this next phase.

School Based Apprenticeships and Traineeships

 Congratulations to students who have recently completed their School Based Traineeships including:

• Maya Piggott who completed a Certificate III Hospitality with Peppers Beach Club and Spa
• Jack Calgaro who completed a Certificate III Retail with McDonalds
• Megan Neilsen who completed a Certificate II Retail with McDonalds

Congratulations also to Lauren Macey who commenced School Based Traineeship in Certificate III in Early Childhood Education and Care with G8 Education.

Year 10 Work Experience

At the end of the last term all Year 10 students undertook their interviews for work experience which will take place during 15 - 19 October from 15 – 19; feedback received indicated that all students interviewed extremely well, and VPG are well underway to finding placement for all of our students.
